As a first step, BJ Habibie and BP Batam officials have signed an agreement allocating land area of 62 hectares of the 100 hectares of land to be used as the location of offices, hangars, repair and heavy maintenance (maintenance, repair and overhaul / MRO) by PT Indonesia Aero maintence.

Director of One Stop Services and Public Relations Agency Concession Batam, Dwi Djoko Wiwoho, said that
BJ Habibie has expressed its commitment to pioneering the aircraft industry at Hang Nadim International Airport, Riau Islands. "Some time ago, Mr. Habibie has expressed its commitment to pioneering the development of the aviation industry in Batam.
