The Ministry of Transportation plans to revise the upper limit tariff of flights listed in Ministerial Decree No. 26 Year 2010. "The Ministry of Transportation will communicate with the airline to discuss changes in the upper limit tariff cost," said Djoko Murjatmodjo, Main Director of Air Transport The Ministry of Transportation, in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

According to Djoko, the Ministry of Transportation expects that a decision on changes to the upper limit tariff will be completed by July 2013. The plan of increase the upper limit tariff of flights will take into consideration the increase in aircraft fuel prices and the weakening of the rupiah against the dollar. "The two factors that increase airline operating costs up to 10%," said Djoko.

Djoko said that the Ministry of Transportation has not received the proposed changes to the upper limit tariff of flights from the airline. However, the rate increase will consider the overall costs (Total Operating Cost). Meanwhile, the Marketing Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA), Elissa Lumbantoruan, said that the density of air traffic became the main factors that cause an increase in the number of aircraft fuel. Means, increasing the number of aircraft fuel consumption," she said.
