Malindo Air |
Malindo Air is a joint venture between National Aerospace and Defence Industries (NADI) of Malaysia with Lion Air. Details of shareholding is 49% for Lion Air and 51% for the NADI. Currently, Malindo Air has two Boeing 737-900ER aircraft for which a part of the reservation by Lion Air to Boeing aircraft manufacturer in 2011. At that time, witnessed by President Barack Obama, Lion Air ordered 230 Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft with a value of U.S. $ 21.7 billion.
Until the end of 2013, Malindo Air will receive dozens of Boeing planes and is targeted to reach 100 aircraft up to 5 years to future. Malindo Air becomes part subsidiary of Lion Air, besides of Wings Air and Batik Air. Lion Air is currently hold 45% of Indonesia's aviation market.
NADI Group is a company of Malaysia which also oversees several other companies, namely Airod, Airod Techno Power, Aerospace Technology System Corp and SME Aerospace. These companies are engaged in the industry sector such as repair and production of machinery, aircraft's spare parts, and aircraft maintenance.
