The pioneer flights in Maluku has operated again after four months suspended due to a new contract with the bidder winning airline has not been signed. According to Chief Dumatubun Airport in Southeast Maluku, Amran Hamid, a new contract was delayed because the subsidy fund for the pioneer flights from the Ministry of Transportation late thawed.

Lano said that after the new contract was made, 2 aircraft of type CN-212 belonging Merpati Nusantara Airlines which can carry up to 15 people immediately operated again. This aircraft serves 9 pioneer flights in Maluku, namely Ambon-Kisar, Ambon-Banda, Ambon-Namlea, Ambon-Namrole, Ambon-Wahai, Ambon-Amahai, Kisar-Saumlaki, Saumlaki-Larat, and Larat-Langgur.
