The Aviation News. In the Hajj season of 2013, Garuda Indonesia will fly the 112 688 Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia. Hajj pilgrims came from 10 Haji embarkation areas who spread across Indonesia. To serve Hajj flights in 2013, Garuda Indonesia will operate 10 units Airbus A330-300, 3 units of Boeing 747, and 1 unit of Boeing 777.

Garuda Indonesia will transport 112,688 Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia on Hajj season 2013. Departure of Hajj Pilgrims will begin on 10 September 2013. President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Sattar, said that 112 688 Hajj pilgrims incorporated in 295 flight groups of 10 embarkation. "We're going to use 14 aircraft consisting 10 units of Airbus A330-300, 3 units of Boeing 747, and 1 unit of Boeing 777," he said on the sidelines of the signing of the agreement for the transportation of Hajj pilgrims in 2013 between the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Garuda Indonesia, and Saudi Arabian Airlines, in Jakarta, Monday, May 13, 2013.

Passenger capacity of Airbus A330-300 reached 375 passengers, Boeing 747 with a capacity of 455 passengers, and the Boeing 777 has a capacity of 314 passengers. Emirsyah Sattar explained that Garuda Indonesia will transport pilgrims from 10 of embarkation which began on 10 September 2013 until the return of the Hajj pilgrims on 19 November 2013. 10 Hajj pilgrims embarkation consist of Aceh (3,984 persons), Medan (8,324 persons), Padang (7,514 persons), Palembang (7,378 persons), Jakarta (22 151 persons), Solo (33 188 persons), Banjarmasin (5,240 persons), Balikpapan (5,352 persons), Makassar (14 993 persons) and Lombok (4,564 persons).

According to Emirsyah Sattar, the Hajj pilgrims only allowed to carry luggage with weight not exceeding 32 kg, either as departure to Jeddah or Madinah and return to Indonesia. The luggage consisting of suitcases, one carry-on bag in the cabin, passport bags, and Garuda Indonesia will provide for free the five liters of zam-zam water to every congregation in the Indonesia debarkation airport.

Besides it, on hajj pilgrim flights the year 2013, Garuda Indonesia also commissioned 556 person crew cabin who 60% of whom constitute cabin crew which originating from regions-regions embarkation so that could facilitate the communication and service to the pilgrims hajj.
