The Aviation News. After being stalled since December 2012, 20 pioneer flight routes in Papua reactivated on 15 April 2013. The 20 pioneering flights in Papua was served by Trigana Air and Susi Air. Trigana Air serves 12 pioneer flight, and SusiAir serves 8 pioneer flight.

20 pioneer flights connecting some isolated areas in Papua have been opened again starting 15 April 2013. These flight routes had been halted since December 2012. Two operators who will serve 9 regencys namely Trigana Air serving 12 routes and Susi Air serving 8 routes. All this pioneering flight will land at runway whose length is no more than 400 meters.

Head of Civil Aviation, Department of Transportation Mimika regency, John Rettob, said that the certainty of re-opening the aviation pioneer in Papua according to the agreements made in Jakarta. The agreement made by the operator that winning bidder and the Ministry of Transportation. The pioneer flights who should start since January 2013, has been delayed due to the addition of 3 new routes that have adapted to the administration at the Ministry of Transportation. "Thankfully, these pioneering flights can be operated again. Residents of inland so many have come to ask this to the office," he said.

Subsidy costs for the pioneer flights from the Central Government through the Ministry of Transportation aims to open insulation in some areas that can only be reached by air transportation. Hopefully, the opening of a pioneer flights will encourage economic growth as well as opening access to the movement of goods and services. Pioneering flights in Papua serve routes to Kokonao, Potowayburu, Agimuga, Jita, Jila, Tsinga, and Alama in Mimika regency. Then, Kaimana in Kaimana regency, Ilu in Puncak Jaya regency, Ilaga, Sinak, Beoga in Puncak regency, Sugapa in Intan Jaya regency, Dekai in Yahukimo regency, Kepi in Mappi regency, Ewer in Asmat regency, and Kenyam in Nduga regency. 3 additional flight routes in 2013 was route to Wangbei in Puncak regency, Paro and Mpanduma in Nduga regency.
