Garuda Indonesia has targeted that in August 2013 has been able to serve flight routes to Berau regency, East Kalimantan province. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Department of Transportation, Communication and Information, Fahmi Rizani, and the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of Bearu Regency Government, H Mappasika Mappaseleng. According Setya, Berau Regency Government strongly supports the development of air transport in Berau. This was evidenced by the condition of the Kalimarau Airport much better when compared to several other airports in East Kalimantan.
