Lion Air has been preparing to bring 6 Boeing 737-900ER aircraft until the end of this year. The plan, six new aircraft to increase the air fleet of full-service airline owned by Lion Air, namely Batik Air. Boeing 737-900ER has 120 seats in economy class, while the rest is for business class.

Edward Sirait, General Manager of Lion Air, said that in the early stages will come two aircraft on 16 April 2013. If nothing changes, on April 26, 2013 will be opened first flight routes. "The aircraft will be flown from Seattle on April 15, 2013, are expected to be landed in Indonesia on 16 April 2013. If there is no change, on 26 April 2013, the aircraft will conduct the first flight on the route Jakarta-Manado," said Edward, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 .

The flight route of Batik Air have a frequency of two flights a day. The first flight on the route Jakarta-Balikpapan-Manado in the morning and the second in the afternoon. Edward has not revealed plans to open next flight routes. He said he wanted to get to travel around the city. However, the problem is at capacity. "We think to combine acceleration on the new route could be actual," said Edward.

Meanwhile, in May 2013, Batik Air will receive another two new planes that will be used to serve other routes. Until the end of this year, Batik Air targets to receive 6 new aircrafts.
