Indonesia Aviation. The Indonesian government will soon operate 12 new airports in Indonesia in 2013. 12 new airports are located at scattered locations in several provinces. The new airports are: Bawean Airport (East Java), New Tual Airport (Maluku), Kuala Namu Airport (North Sumatra), Waisai Airport (Raja Ampat), Pekon Serai Airport (West Lampung), Muara Bungo Airport (Jambi), Bone Airport (South Sulawesi), Sumarorong Airport (Mamasa), Kufar Airport (East Seram), New Saumlaki Airport (Maluku), New Kamanap Airport (Serui), and New Waghete Airport.

Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Indonesia plans to operate 12 new airports by 2013. 12 airports are spread across several provinces in Indonesia. "In 2013 it is planned to operate 12 new airports," said Minister of Transportation, EE Mangindaan, in a meeting with Commission V, at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

12 airports it is the Kuala Namu Airport (North Sumatra), Muara Bungo Airport (Jambi), Pekon Serai Airport (West Lampung), Bone Airport (South Sulawesi), Bawean Airport (East Java), Sumarorong Airport (Mamasa), Kufar Airport (East Seram), New Tual Airport (Maluku), New Saumlaki Airport (Maluku), Waisai Airport (Raja Ampat), New Kamanap Airport (Serui), and New Waghete Airport. "We will also operates nine airports in eastern Indonesia and 3 airports in western Indonesia in 2014 and 2015," said Mangindaan.

According Mangindaan, it was done to support the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia's Economic Development (MP3EI). Therefore, airport development plans be continued.

Development in Kuala Namu Airport (North Sumatra) to be completed this year, construction of the Termindung Airport (New Samarinda) targeted for completion in 2015, and the Kertajati Airport (Majalengka) is planned to begin this year. For the development of the airport, performed at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali), Juanda Airport (Surabaya), Ahmad Yani Airport (Semarang), and Labuan Bajo Airport.
